Fabela and Marquez Are February Students of The Month

The February Students of the Month for the Perryton Rotary Club are Perryton High School Seniors Andrea Fabela and Hector Marquez.  The students were introduced at the first meeting of the month.  Fabela is the daughter of Carla Villagran and Jesus Fabela.  She’s a cheerleader, powerfliter, softball player and participates in NHS, Student Council and the Pathways Program.

Fabela’s favorite subject is Math because of the confidence she gets by solving different kinds of questions and equations. She lists Coach Arruda as her most influential teacher. “He has always pushed me to the best” she says.

Her future plans are to get her basics at Frank Phillips and then attend Texas Tech to become a registered nurse.

Hector is the son of Hector Marquez and Susana Trejo. He’s involved in Tennis, NHS, Big Brothers Big Sisters and has been in band for three years.  Hector’s favorite subjects are Math and Science because he likes problem solving. He also likes Anatomy and Physiology.

When asked about a favorite teacher at PHS, Hector replied, “I’ve had many wonderful teachers that have influenced me. It’s hard to choose just one teacher out of all the amazing Teachers Perryton ISD has.”   He plans to attend Texas Tech and Major in Biology on the Pre-Med track.

Congratulations to these deserving students and good luck in the future.
