Anderson and Uribe Chosen Are November Students of The Month

The Perryton Rotary Club recognized their November Perryton High School Students of the Month on Thursday, November 5.  Seniors Shallan Anderson and Ivan Uribe share the honor this month, along with a preferred parking place at PHS.

Shallan is the daughter of Jeremy and Melisa Anderson and has one sister, Jontra. She is active in National Honor Society, FFA and Student Council.

Her favorite subjects are Anatomy and Government however it is FFA teacher JoBonney LeCompte who she lists as her most influential teacher. “He spends countless hours helping and working with each of his students” Shallan told the group.

Her piece of advice to underclassmen is to work hard in all of your classes because it matters in the end, and of course, always have school spirit. RPND

She plans to attend Amarillo College and major in Nuclear Medicine and then attend a university to pursue a bachelor’s degree.

Ivan is the son of Ernesto and Maria Elena Uribe. He has two older brothers, Ernesto and Jonathan.  He’s the student council treasurer, a member of NHS and is involved in the Red Media Production.

Ivan’s favorite subject is math because “I find it fun and satisfying. It’s like solving a puzzle.” Mr. David Erickson, PHS Info Tech teacher is his favorite teacher because he has taught Ivan life changing lessons that have a positive impact on his life.

He wants to attend college and pursue a degree in accounting or marketing.  Ivan advises underclassmen to not hesitate or be afraid to ask for help from your teachers. “They are not your enemy, they are on your side.”

Congratulations to these two outstanding students.  They are great representatives of Perryton High School.
