PISD To Offer Free Meals

Posted Date: 09/24/2020

UPDATED SEPT. 21: Perryton ISD is providing lunch and breakfast for students at no charge for the remainder of the fall semester.  Free meals are being funded by USDA through a program that is scheduled to run through December 31, 2020, unless federal funding runs out sooner.

In addition, PISD will provide free breakfast and lunch for ALL CHILDREN age 1 to 18, regardless of enrollment.  These Grab and Go Meals will be served at one location, in the PISD Administration Bldg. parking lot (behind Williams Int.)  Breakfast will be available from 8:00 to 8:30 and Lunch will be from 10:30 to 11:00 each day.

In order to participate in this program, schools initially could not offer a la carte services such as the snack bars at PJH and PHS.  Changes in the USDA rules allowed the snack bars to return on Thursday, Sept. 24. IOUs are not permitted at the snack bar.

All children must be present or the driver must show identification (birth certificate) in order to receive meals. Face-to-Face students will eat at their regular times.

PISD reminds families with IOUs that have accumulated prior to the start of this program, those funds will still be due.  This should give families time to catch up on these debts before fees resume in January, or sooner if the program runs out. Families are also encouraged to fill out the online application to continue receiving free or reduced lunches after this program ends.  See
