PHS FCCLA Chapter Has Huge Success at Regional – Sends Over 20 To State

March 1-3 the Perryton High School chapter of FCCLA attended Region 1 STAR Events.  The PHS Chapter had the largest attendance/participation in 4A Schools and was recognized for membership enrollment increase (from 63 to 88). 

PHS FCCLA was also recognized for Service Learning, for News Across Texas and for Spotlight on Projects.

Team projects that advance to state include:

RAK -Random Acts of Kindness - tied for Best Overall Project - Team members: Janeli Hernandez, Samantha Velez, Daniela Brambila, Miranda Garrison-Vela, and Kimberly Lang

Jireh - tied for best overall project - Team Members: Sally Rosales and Rubi Borjas

Sr. Village - Advances to State competition - Team members: Ryan Quist, Marylynn Montes, and Isaiah Tanner

Family and Consumer Science (FCSA) that advance to state include:

Creed Mission Purpose -Gold medals - Janeli Hernandez, Jennifer Ramirez, Samantha Velez

 Creed Mission Purpose - Silver medal -  Kimberly Lang

 Step One - Gold medal -  Ryan Quist, Miranda Garrison-Vela, Jackie Camacho

Step One - Silver medal - Rubi Borjas

Child Development - Yadira Acosta and Daniela Brambila

Consumer Math - Marylynn Montes

Power of One - All 5 Unit Completers - Janeli Hernandez, Daniela Brambila, Samantha Velez, Jackie Camacho, Yadira Acosta, Kimberly Lang and Ruth Fraire

Career Investigation, Sr. - Isaiah Tanner - 2nd place.

Cupcake Battle, Occup - Yoseli Medrano

Cupcake Battle, Sr. - Laura Rojo - 2nd place - $2000 Scholarship to Escoffier 

Illustrated Talk, Sr. - Andres Rivas and Briana Ceniceros - 5th place 

Daniel Rangel - Fashion Design, Sr. - 1st place 

Food Innovations, Jr. - Kayla Chairez and Daniela Frias - 2nd place - $2000 Scholarship to Escoffier for each!  

Life Event Planning - Fernanda Frausto and Irma Rodriguez

Fashion Design, Occup - Ruth Fraire - 1st place - advances to state

PHS competitive team was also recognized for their help in running the competition.
