Every two years the University Interscholastic League reworks the classifications and districts for High School Athletics throughout the state.  High schools across the state report enrollment in late October and those numbers are used to determine classification and districts for the next two years.

Thursday morning area coaches and athletic directors gathered at the Region 16 Service Center in Amarillo to “open their packets” and find out the results.

Here are the district alignments for Perryton ISD for the next two years, beginning next fall:

For football:

Perryton

Dalhart

Borger

Levelland

Lubbock Estacado

For All Other Sports:

Perryton

Dalhart

Pampa

Borger

Dumas

These districts will take effect for the 2018-2019 and the 2019-2020 school years.

After the districts were released, the frenzy began as football coaches scrambled to set the remaining games on their schedule for next fall.  Coach Coursey told us he was able to fill almost all of Perryton’s pre-district schedule within a few minutes.
