PISD BOARD FILLS LAST ADMINISTRATOR OPENINGS

At the Tuesday evening monthly meeting of the Perryton ISD Board of Trustees, the board approved the recommendations of Superintendent Robert Hall as well as Principals Matt Birdwell and Dimitri Garcia to fill the open assistant principal positions.   Kyle Admire was hired at Perryton High School assistant principal while Brian Whitecotton will take that position at Perryton Junior High.

Also approved at the meeting were Angi Whitecotton, Business teacher at PHS; Joshua Price will teach Texas History at PJH;  Jesse Finney, PJH Band Director; Kevin Black, PJH History and Whitney Holmes, PJH RTI Interventionist. Also, Gary Mills was rehired for a half-time Spanish teacher position.

In other action at the meeting the board finalized the contract with Jim Seybert Homes to complete the repair of the Perryton High auditorium and stage which was damaged during the ice storm last January.  The project, costing just over $155,000, has a completion date of October 1, but could be completed sooner.

The 2017-2018 Student Code of Conduct was approved with no changes from the previous year.

The board set August 8 at 6:00 p.m for a budget workshop. and will adopt the final budget and set the tax rate prior to the next regular meeting, set for August 29 at 6:00 p.m.
